The International Bankers Association of Japan Privacy Policy
In order to comply with the existing Japanese privacy laws, the following explanation outlines how the International Bankers Association of Japan (IBA Japan) collects and uses the personal identifiable data we receive.
First and foremost, IBA Japan serves as the clearinghouse for the exchange of ideas and information for our members. By seeking to foster and promote cooperation among IBA Japan members, the sharing of information and members’ resources has always been a vital part of IBA Japan’s mandate to better represent the views of our members.
1. IBA Japan Collects the Following Information
A. IBA Japan Member Executives/Staff
In the course of your dealings with IBA Japan as members (including associate members), you may be asked to provide the following personal identifiable information, including:
- first name, middle name, surname;
- company name;
- workplace address;
- telephone and facsimile numbers;
- email address;
- job title and function;
- department;
- business unit and location;
- other information required for billing and payment.
B. Member and Non-Member Individuals
If you contact us by email, telephone, facsimile, or post, we may also keep a record of your contact information and correspondence.
2. How IBA Japan Uses This Personal Information
In order to keep accurate IBA Japan membership records, we regularly request the staff of IBA Japan member firms to notify us of any changes to their contact details, job title, announcement of successor, etc. Other requirements for personal identifiable information are for our accounting activities, such as billing and payment; corresponding with IBA Japan members regarding billing and payment issues; membership and membership renewals, etc.; and responses to inquiries from IBA Japan members.
When staff of IBA members sign up for regular IBA information forums or training events (either online or by fax), their names and respective firms will be included on our attendance lists. This information may be shared with the speaker in order that the contents of the speech can be tailored to the needs and profile of the audience.
For both staff of IBA Japan member firms and non-members who access our webpage and sign up online for further IBA Japan information, a record will be kept at the IBA Japan Secretariat containing their personal information which may be used for future correspondence.
3. Deleting Personal Information; Handling of Complaints
By default, staff of IBA Japan member firms receive communications from IBA Japan by email. However, if you would like to be removed from this distribution list, please contact IBA Japan directly at 03-6225-2211 or send an email to:

4. Security
IBA Japan will take the appropriate legal, organizational, and technical measures to protect all personal information, consistent with applicable law regarding the protection of personal information.

IBA Japan will review and improve our handling of personal information on an on-going basis. Our most current privacy policy will always be posted on this link, so please review its terms regularly.
